Post What is Botox? Reply with quote
Botox itself is a drug that is made from the bacteria known as toxin botulin; it is mainly used for several different medical reasons such as treating certain muscular conditions or for cosmetic reasons to remove wrinkles through the process of paralyzing the muscles in the face for a temporary amount of time. With that being said it is important to know that Botox itself is brand name of the toxin and comes from the bacteria commonly known as Clostridium botulinum; other brand names that do the same thing include Xeomin and Dysport.

It works by blocking the actual signals that there are in which are connected from the nerves all the way to the muscles. This means that all of the muscles that are injected with Botox cannot contract, or in other words move at all for a certain amount of time. When it comes to wrinkles this process causes them to go away because it relaxes the wrinkles and gets them to completely soften out. More often than not people turn to Botox for removing lines on the forehead, removing frown lines or removing crow’s feet which are the lines around the eyes. You need to keep in mind that Botox will not be able to help when it comes to damage that has been done by the sun; this includes wrinkles that have been created as a result of sun damage.

This is a procedure that is actually really worth it to do and believe it or not it only takes a few minutes to go through the whole thing and best of all you don’t need to go under any anesthesia. It is simply injected into the muscles desired with an insanely fine pointed needle. Once this has been done it can take anywhere from three days to seven days for all of the effects to take place and it is also highly recommended to consume no alcohol at least one whole week before you go to get the procedure done. You should also not take any aspirin or anti-inflammatory medicines that you may take about two weeks before you go for the treatment; this is done so your amount of bruising afterwards will be dramatically reduced.

Some of the best Top Facial Plastic Surgeon out there are located within Thousand Oaks, Agoura Hills and in the San Fernando Valley. One thing you need to keep in mind when you go to get Botox done is that occasionally the medicine itself can move around once injected which can cause a temporary weakness of those muscles that are nearby the injection sites as well. If this happens, it is nothing to worry about and in fact will just help speed up the final results that you want anyways.

There are Botox doctors all over but you want to go to someone that you can trust and obviously knows what they are doing; this is where some research comes into handy.
